Far out in the middle of the sea lies a remote island. No-one knows when the settlers first came to this island, but they were the only humans to ever have lived on the island. They built a small village called Aerdell, in the middle of the island, and for a while everything was peaceful. The humans lived in peace and harmony with the creatures on the island and so did their pet dogs and cats.
But after a couple of years, a disease spread through the village like wildfire. Both the humans and their pets fell victim to this disease and many died from it. The few surviving humans made their way to the coast and set sail in their boats, only to die out at sea. The village soon became like a ghost town, with not a creature stirring except for the rats and mice.
Even the dogs and cats had died from the disease, but they were affected differently than the humans were. They became ghosts, ethereal beings, wandering the island. But even ghosts can be killed on this island, there are dark creatures called Reapers, which feed off the souls of the dead. Fortunately they only come out at night when there is no moon or when there is an eclipse.
However, there is a way for the ghosts to return to life and become solid again. There is a lake somewhere on the island, it is called Full Moon Lake as it only appears during the night of a full moon. It is said that, if a ghost drinks from this lake, they will return to their original form. But they must find the lake quickly, for, after a certain period of time, a ghost will simply disappear and vanish from this world.
Can the animals survive long enough to rise from the dead?
